y’know i see a lot of folks assuming that Loboto was committed to the Thorny Towers asylum, but unless there’s something in canon i haven’t seen that states that, i don’t think he was. i don’t think his family ever lived in Shaky Claim, or near Thorny Towers. i think he escaped from a completely different mental institution

People think about it because of the Li-Po docs, early development documents that were leaked. However, since they are early development, only parts of it became canon. Which parts? We don’t know.

However, I think Vernon’s ghost story is more likely to be true.

that’s because in tim schafer’s li-po doc, he was initially committed to thorney towers. i think his backstory was bit changed for the game, but here’s the blurb from the original design doc stating he was sent to thorney towers.

interesting! and yeah, there’s some other stuff that doesn’t really match up with that backstory anymore. like, in rhombus, the way loboto talks about oleander (”that little army man”) makes me think he wasn’t his first client, or just didn’t think very highly of him other than a new source of income (and surgical opportunities)
